ASHA utilizes students to assist in various volunteer roles onsite during the ASHA Convention. As a student volunteer, you will have the opportunity to meet and network with your peers and ASHA members. The student volunteer application will be open from July 12 through September 9, 2024.
About Volunteering
Assignments include activities such as:
Monitoring session rooms: Help monitor education session room capacities, identify overflow spaces for popular sessions, and connect presenters with AV support when needed.
Disseminating information at registration, information booths, and materials pickup stations. Greeting attendees at the main entrances, providing them with Convention materials, information, and directions as needed.
Managing crowds and lines: Ensuring attendees concentrated in high traffic spaces are in the correct place, as well as helping them to move quickly through lines.
Providing support in the speaker ready room and at the Program Planner stations: Alongside ASHA staff and AV teams, helping to guide and answer basic questions from attendees and presenters.
Helping during special events such as the Awards Ceremony: Assisting ASHA staff with the placement of program books, awardee photo opportunities, and finding seats.
Scanning badges and collecting session/event tickets: Scanning attendees badges for validation, and/or collecting paper receipts/tickets from attendees at various sessions and events.
Assisting with pre-event set-up: Working closely with ASHA staff to set up for the Convention. (May include volunteer shifts on Wednesday.)
The assignments are tentative and subject to change, so we appreciate your flexibility.
